It is a thick, hard deposit that can clog our arteries and the condition is known as atherosclerosis. Besides the bad cholesterol LDL, there is HDL, which is the good form of cholesterol. This is because high levels of it seem to protect us against heart attacks. In fact, a low level of HDL in our body can in fact increase the risk of having a heart attack. Another factor which must be brought into this discussion is triglyceride. It is a form of fat that comes from food. Triglyceride is also made in your body. The reason it is involved in this subject is because people with high triglycerides often have a high cholesterol level, with high LDL cholesterol and low HDL cholesterol level. It is very important for everyone to get their cholesterol levels checked regularly, to make sure that they are healthy and free from high levels of bad cholesterol. As cholesterol is a major part of everyone's health, it is very important to find out whether you have too much of bad cholesterol or too little of good cholesterol. And if your cholesterol levels are in the correct range, it means that you are healthy and do not need to worry about it. Always remember that cholesterol levels can quickly change dramatically. So just because you got a good result from your cholesterol levels check some time ago does not mean that you will always healthy. That is why it is important to regularly check your cholesterol levels.
